We perform a classic pedicure correctly at home

What foot care can be considered the most affordable? Of course, a classic edged pedicure. To learn his "wisdom" is not at all difficult. It is only important to observe the technology and not to forget about safety measures. So let's get started!
Nice legs

Mastering the skills of a classic pedicure is important for every girl. It will become a lifesaver if you need to quickly put your feet in order, and there is no money or time to visit a cosmetologist. The advantage of the technique is its simplicity and the ability to purchase everything you need in the free market. But she also has disadvantages. Let's consider which ones.

The dangers of the procedure

  • It is no coincidence that classic manicures and pedicures are called edged. They mean ruthlessly cutting off all that is superfluous. The rough skin, corns, calluses - eliminate them with the help of special blades and scrapers. Be careful! It is worth a little overdoing or pushing too hard on a new scraper, and not to avoid painful wounds. For this reason, it is even more preferable to do circumcised pedicures on your own than in the cabin. After all, you definitely feel your legs, but the most professional master does not.
  • During an edged pedicure, it is impossible to maintain the integrity of the skin. Wounds will surely appear on the feet, even if outwardly they will be invisible. Be sure to disinfect your legs after you have sanded them with a scraper or grater! To do this, use a wide range of septic tanks in the form of sprays or gels. And only then carry out further procedures.
  • Do not perform this pedicure if there is a foot lesion with a fungus. Its particles will remain on the instruments, and already during the next procedure, infection will occur again. In this case, it is preferable to go to the salon where you will receive a professional medical pedicure.
  • Do not use this technique for diabetes. Do not create a risk of infection of the feet.

Home Pedicure Tools

What is needed for the procedure

To carry out the procedure at home, use:

  • water tank - a plastic basin of 5 liters is suitable;
  • emollients and disinfectants;
  • tools - a grater or laser file, polishing for nails (surfaces and tips), a file for feet, a scraper or razor for pedicure, scissors for cuticles, nail clippers;
  • base for varnish, varnish itself and fixing agent.

Tools for the procedure should be new, sharp, when it comes to cutting objects. For example, a pedicure scraper, called a foot razor, is equipped with blades that become dull during use. A classic pedicure with blunt accessories is more traumatic, so carefully evaluate their condition before use.

When choosing a grater for legs, do not use the usual pumice, the laser file works much more delicately and efficiently. Normal grinding for the feet should be two-sided: on the one hand with a large abrasive (up to 150 units), on the other - with a small one (up to 80 units). With this tool you can polish the skin to softness, using a coarse abrasive surface and then with a fine abrasive.

Do not forget about polishing the surface of the nails themselves. Special soft nail files allow you to remove their relief, clean off unnecessary cells. So the nail plate looks well-groomed, more accurate.

Stages of self-processing feet and nails

Step-by-step technique

For a classic pedicure, technology looks like this.

  1. Remove old varnish if available. Scrub your feet.
  2. Fill the basin with warm water (not hot!). Add sea salt, ammonia or soap to it. Dip your feet in a container for 20 minutes.
  3. While the legs are soaking, brush each with a large abrasive.Then use the side with a small abrasive, walk through all coarsened areas.
  4. In the area of the heels, you can use a special grater or a laser file: it will help remove dry skin layers. If there are corns in the area of the foot pads, cut them with a pedicure scraper.
  5. Process the nails: gradually (in 3 doses) cut their length with forceps, sanded with a nail file. Do not use a metal, preferably diamond, which does not exfoliate the nail plate. Hold it at an angle of 30 ° and grind clearly in one direction. Then take a polishing file and go over the surface of the nails.
  6. Process the cuticle - carefully cut it with sharp scissors.
  7. Hold the legs in water again, remove, wipe dry, apply a disinfectant, then a moisturizer.
  8. Varnish your nails to complete a classic trim pedicure.

As the reviews show, all events take about 1 hour. Therefore, the procedure can be safely considered a solution for the weekend, when you can afford to relax, and at the same time bring your legs in order. The frequency of the classic pedicure is determined individually: you yourself will notice when you need to re-treat the feet. But even in the winter, when the legs are not in sight, experts recommend conducting it at least 1 time per month.
